Dave Woods is the owner and driving force behind Wanderlust Trading Company.  Dave grew up with wine.  Growing up in New York City, an uncle grew grapes in the backyard and made a barrel of table wine every year.  Growing up, this wine was a staple at family gatherings and in the Italian tradition, the children had watered down wine with dinner.

Dave and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1972.  He graduated from Apollo High School in Glendale, Arizona and went to Arizona State University.  At ASU he studied Marketing and as a break from classes, he took a fun course in wine appreciation from a local wine retailer.  He learned how to sample, taste and evaluate wines.  This sparked a passion for wine and wine knowledge that Dave has pursued for more than 30 years!

After graduating from ASU, Dave went to work for Mobil Oil Corporation.  After 16 years of ever increasing responsibilities and numerous moves, he elected to pursue his passion.  In 1996 Dave opened Seattle Cellars Ltd., A Wine Merchant in Seattle, Washington.  Dave quickly drew a loyal clientèle and the store was recognized by Wine and Spirits Magazine, as one of the Top Wine Retailer in America.

In 1996, the wine industry in the Northwest was just getting ready to explode.  In 1996, there were less than 200 wineries in the the region.  Today, there are 1,100 wineries in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia.  As one of the top retailers in the region, Dave worked closely with the growing wineries in the Northwest.  He has walked the vineyards with the winemakers and grape growers.  He has helped crush, press and bottle wine with some of the most skilled winemakers in the region.

Dave has extensively toured the wine producing areas of the Northwest, tasted more than 10,000 wines and hand selected some of the best in the Northwest to bring to Arizona wine lovers.
